One legendary call can turn into permanent credibility, whether it's earned or not.
Just look at Michael Burry.
Yes — 2008 was historic.
But since then, the record looks a lot like Peter Schiff with #Bitcoin.
Post-2008 track record:
• 2010–2012: Hyperinflation + QE collapse fears (never materialized)
• 2015–2016: China slowdown & global crash warnings (markets recovered)
• 2019: “Everything is a bubble” calls (market kept climbing)
• 2021: Famous “Sell” tweet right before continued bull run
• 2021: Shorted Tesla before it exploded higher
• 2021–2023: Housing crash comparisons to 2008 that never happened
• 2023: Big bearish market bets just before stocks rallied hard
Pattern:
✔️ Incredible once
❌ Early over and over
❌ Collapse always “imminent”
Respect the 2008 call.
But permanent doomerism isn’t a strategy.
