Bitcoin becoming about fiat gains is a distraction from the true innovation.
- Holding arbitrary amounts of value securely without a custodian. The cost of storing that value is independent of the amount being stored.
- The ability to transfer that value in a timely manner over a global and pseudonymous network without requiring permission.
Having this already allows us to form global circular economies and subvert most of the rent seekers. All it takes is willingness to participate.
