In reference to #LLMs, I want to really underscore the difference in speaking and writing. What is so astonishing about the speaking human is that by the time we are speaking fluently, we have adopted and incorporated a large amount of the cultural rules, norms and prejudices that piggyback on any given language. So when we open our mouths and speak, it comes out fast, often fairly unprocessed, and full of that baggage. 1/
So, I have enrolled in #pottery classes and I start Monday. I’m very uncoordinated, my hands shake and I get easily discouraged when I fail at things. And I’m hoping to work to correct this. I thought the physicality and concreteness of working with clay might help me do that. Especially because, all my life, imperfect ceramics have always called to something in my soul. I figure if I can learn to appreciate contingency, this might be a good way. I saw this at the exhibit I attended image
