Selling Bitcoin for fiat is a rookie mistake.
Borrow against your BTC instead.

After a recent trip to Mauritius, generously sponsored by the Btrust Builders Builders to attend the Btrust end-of-year event, I came back deeply inspired.
Being in the same room with some of the best Bitcoin open-source contributors in the world was a powerful reminder of what is possible when people commit to building freedom technology quietly, consistently, and collaboratively.
What impressed me most was seeing what builders from different parts of the world are creating, often with limited resources but unlimited conviction.
That experience planted a seed.
Today, I’m proud to share that BitDevs Malawi 🇲🇼 held its second meeting.
Day 2 highlights:
Attendance 🔺
Skill curiosity 🔺
Commitment 🔺
Malawi is quietly producing the next wave of Bitcoin Open Source Software (BOSS) contributors, and this is only the beginning.
A big thank you to Musa Haruna for leading today’s session and sharing knowledge with clarity and purpose.
Grateful to Btrust Builders and Btrust for investing in builders and ecosystems across the globe. The impact is real and it’s multiplying.
Building continues. 🛠️⚡

After deep reflection and careful consideration, I’ve made a decisive career transition.
I’m stepping away from my role as a Clinical Officer to become a full-time Bitcoin open-source contributor.
This wasn’t a leap taken lightly. It’s the result of sustained and continued study, some hands-on protocol work, and a clear alignment between my values and where I can create the most long-term impact.
Over the past months, I’ve been focused on:
Bitcoin Core fundamentals (RPC, scripts, mempool, pruning, testnet/regtest)
Lightning Network mechanics (commitments, revocations, asymmetry)
Rust for Bitcoin-adjacent development
Open-source collaboration and reproducible systems
I’m now actively seeking opportunities where I can:
Contribute to Bitcoin or Lightning open-source projects
Join an infrastructure, research, or protocol-focused team
Work with mentors who value rigor, humility, and long-term thinking
If you’re building in Bitcoin and looking for someone with deep technical curiosity, discipline from healthcare, and a strong open-source mindset, I’d love to connect.
📩 Open to:
Junior / contributor roles
Fellowships / apprenticeships
Open-source-first teams
Let’s build systems that last.

We are here, thanks Yaki for starting my year with a blessing 😁 ZapEconnomics
