Those memories never leave us. Now we are in Egypt, but safety did not mean stability. No stable work. No residency. Constant worry about how to provide the basics for our children. We left everything behind: our home, our memories, our life… and came to Egypt to start over. But life here is extremely hard. No official residency, no stable work, and no income to cover even the basic needs of my children. After everything we went through, I was finally able to flee with my children to Egypt , not to live, but simply to survive. Here, life is still a struggle every single day. We have no home, no steady income, and no legal papers to let me work. I do everything I can to keep my children safe, fed, and warm , but it’s getting harder each day. Seeing their innocent faces asking for things I can’t give breaks me inside.
