You can’t spend years arguing that America is an irredeemable, colonial crime with no moral right to exist, then pivot at the 250th anniversary and try to out-patriot everyone. You can criticize a country, but you can’t declare it illegitimate and then suddenly claim ownership of it. image
There’s a real contradiction coming into view. You can criticize America harshly, even indict its history. But you can’t spend years calling it an irredeemable, colonial project born only of slavery and genocide, then suddenly pivot at the 250th anniversary and claim you’re the true patriots. Patriotism implies continuity and care. Irredeemable things don’t get celebrated. image
In the U.S., patriotism isn’t a civic philosophy. It’s pageantry. Flags, anthems, slogans, costumes. People don’t react to your beliefs so much as whether they think you’re sincere or performing. The posture matters more than the content. image

When people claim “America is basically 1930s Germany” and insist their credentials prove it, the facts still don’t line up. There’s no hyperinflation, no Versailles-style punishment, no occupation, no boot on the national neck. The U.S. is the richest hegemon in history, issues the global reserve currency, maintains hundreds of overseas bases, isn’t an ethnostate, and has thriving Jews, Slavs, and countless minorities. This just isn’t that. image
It's amazing to see how openly everyone is at defeating white supremacy which is not about white supremacists anymore but it's about making America a non-white majority country. Which is funny because that's what most of the entire world is, currently. Fascinating time to be alive.
