The French-German Digital Sovereignty Summit yesterday was really inspiring. The topic of Open Source, European Sovereignty and Ethical AI is now discussed on the highes political level.
I’m also happy that I was able to discuss Open Source and Digital Sovereignty with Chancellor Merz, President Macron and Minister Wildberger during a roundtable yesterday evening.

Let me repeat that. The Austrian federal ministry of economics migrated to Nextcloud Hub. All 1200 employees. The complete Hub with Files, Talk, Groupware, Office and Flow. No test but fully in production since 6 months. People like it. No complains. Other ministries are impressed and want to do the same. People who say that Open Source doesn’t work are wrong.

Today is a special day for me. For 3 years I worked with the German government and other organizations on Green IT topics and the Blauer Engel. I am happy that today Nextcloud got as first cloud software the Blauer Engel certificate from the German government.
