Anti-trans laws, transmisogyny
It’s kinda bonkers to me that the way anti-trans bigots respond to finally learning that trans men exist is to just amen their anti-trans laws to do exclusively transmisogyny instead. Like, they could have responded by reflecting and realizing how stupid their beliefs were, but nope, just double down on the bigotry instead.
Thing is, trans men and trans mascs will still be targeted for violence through these laws. Just like bigots don’t care that Sikhs aren’t Muslims when they do an Islamophobia, they don’t parse which flavor of trans a person is. Since the anti-trans bathroom laws started going into effect, many of the high profile cases of people being harassed and assaulted when entering a “women’s” restroom have been transmasculine people, with their perpetrators often calling them trans women. Similarly, when a trans boy was forced to compete in wrestling against girls, his image has been spread around with people claiming he’s a trans girl cheating at sports.
Basically, they will make all our lives unlivable in the end, even if their specific bigotry is targeted at transfeminine people primarily.
