I wonder if RTL8371B has 8051 (just like RTL8370N) and could be re-configured to work in managed mode. After opening TL-SG108-M2 V2.0 I noticed an SPI chip on the bottom of the board. It's 2MB, but most of it is unused - looks like it only holds register configuration. There's also a UART header but I couldn't get any output, there are missing resistors, I tired to poke it with dupont wires at 9600 baud but no luck. TP-Link would never waste money on unnecessary components (especially since there's a spot on the board for AT24 EEPROM, so I wonder if the same board is used in higher-end switches with management capabilities :thonk: image
