Yesterday I plugged in one of those outlet testers and when I pulled it out, the power in there went out. I checked inside the outlets for power and none of the wires in this or other outlets/switches are hot. The circuit breaker was flipped off and on (I don't think it was tripped), but there's still no power. Any ideas on wtf could be wrong?
I need help with something I'm confused by. I have 3 NVME drives and 6 (previously 4) SATA drives. Two of the NVME drives are on M.2_1 and M.2_2, and the other is on a PCIe card in PCIEX16_2. When M.2_2 is occupied, SATA56 is disabled. I need all of them. It seems I have multiple options. I suppose option 1) is ideal? 1) Move the drive in M.2_2 to the card in PCIEX16_2 at x4 and use SATA56. But I would need the motherboard to properly support bifurcation. The manual suggests that only PCIEX16_1 can do bifurcation? That would mean moving video card to PCIEX16_2 at 4x, which is probably fine, since it's only an Nvidia 1660 Super. 2) Add a SATA PCIe card in PCIEX1_1 at x1 speed (and thereby possibly reducing PCIEX16_2 to x1 as well?). 3) Spend a bunch of money that I don't have on an AM5 motherboard, Zen 4 / Zen5 CPU, and DDR5 RAM. Why don't CPUs just have more lanes? 16 for PCIEX16_1, 4 for M.2_1, and 4 for everything on the B550 chipset (PCIE16_2, M.2_2, SATA, USB, audio, etc). At the very least, let me split the 16 lanes into x8, x8 (or even better, x8, x4, x4 (and/or 4 x1)).
