The @Mostro app obtains the Bitcoin price of fiat currencies from the Yadio API. Yadio, like many other websites, is blocked in Venezuela by the dictatorship, which is why users in Venezuela cannot create market price orders on Mostro right now.
Since I started working on tools that use Bitcoin, I've been avoiding relying on web domains precisely because of how easy it is to block them. Using Telegram is a good option, but it has the drawback of being centralized. That's why Mostro exists, solving this problem by using Nostr.
Given the blocking of Yadio, the solution is more Nostr. That's why I've contacted the Yadio developers and proposed that they also publish the prices on Nostr to circumvent censorship in Venezuela. They are already working on it! π

This Statue of Liberty was also made by the French sculptor FrΓ©dΓ©ric Auguste Bartholdi, the same artist who created the one in New York, and was installed in 1875, 11 years before the one in New York.
If you come to Buenos Aires, it's very close to Chinatown, in Barrancas de Belgrano.

I've been working on a reputation analysis tool for @Mostro nodes. This application fetches public Nostr events and computes objective metrics to help users assess the reliability and operational health of Mostro nodes before trading.
This is the first try but there's plenty room for improvement

I've been working on FOSS for years and I've witnessed firsthand when my favorite projects cease to exist due to a lack of incentives for developers.
This is our proposal to make Mostro be sustainable in time
