Hello frens, I am happy as can be to post my newest blog entry it's about gnosticism. Why are they called heretics? What did they believe in? Well, you'll sure find out about it on my entry. Sprinkled with my newest illustrations made by yours truly. I'm beyond excited and I hope you enjoy it with a nice tea or coffee and tell me what you think. Have a beautiful day my frens #artonnostr #art #artist #artstr #gnosticism #jesus #samhainsam #samhain

Oh this is good. I actually haven't finished reading, but the top gets so much right, so much that needs to be said, I know this one is a winner.

And ironically (responding to a part near the top), Orthodox Christians turned on Origen and Clement of Alexandria after deciding they were also heretics! So much for "team Christian"... Modern Christianity is defined by layers of purity tests, where new absurdities are used to 'other' new people, and previous saints lose their sainthood solely because they weren't as antagonistic as their successors.
In Origen's case, they used his wording to justify attacks on his supporters - Origen's supposed crime was saying that there was ever a time that Jesus didn't exist, but it's more complicated and I'm honestly a little confused about what was being said and what the issue was. But that was the big crime, which was used to vilify Origen's other teachings, which included reincarnation. In, iirc, year 545 Justinian (totally winging it, this could be so off) decreed that belief in reincarnation was a crime, and had his army murder Christians who believed in reincarnation.
