The housing crisis is actually a government crisis. There are too many rules, regulations, and fees. We don't own land or homes. We rent from the government.

Meanwhile, the cost of a house has exploded in the past 75 years relative to income growth, weβre just supposed to accept this as normal.
Yeah and that inflation crisis was also caused by government on top of all the other shit that increased costs.
Go to your phone&s board. Say you are going to help them by putting the codes on github with seld-referential hyper links.
Get your commissioners to adopt PRs as how proposals and changes are made/commented on.
Then proceed to submit 10 changes to those codes for each meeting, starting with ending conditional use permits and proceding to eliminate any code that can/should be handled by a state or federal entity (ie don't fucking tell me what to do with my sewage, if there is a problem of it leaking onto someone elses property call the DNR or EPA).
Continue with don't tell me what I can and can't do in my property (you don't get to complain if I have 50 cars on my property bc your property values are decressed, plant trees if you want a clean line of site when selling your house).
Finally, disband planning and zoning entirely and make a statue that it cannot be brought back into existence without approval of 75% of the people.
Profit.
