I had the honor to interview María Corina Machado, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, about how fiat money was weaponized against the Venezuelan people by the Chávez and Maduro regimes She says Bitcoin is a "lifeline" and "vital means of resistance" and said that a future democratic Venezuelan government will use Bitcoin to rebuild the national reserves that the Chávistas stole and put Venezuela back on a path to peace and prosperity I've put out a lot of content in the past few years but I think this is the most important thing I've done -- the implications are vast considering a) Venezuela is one of the world's largest energy exporters with some of the world's largest oil reserves and b) María Corina Machado is not some rogue leader or dictator but a US ally I hope you can watch 🇻🇪

If US demanded jail and death to whistleblowers who unveiled secret government docs and/or surveillance programs conducted by US all over the world, what should Venezuelan leaders do with someone who can literally handle the country (ant its huge natural re$erves) to foreign enemies? About ancaps and libertarians here, you guys are just plain naive or really ill-intentioned?
I dom't see how ancap can work in the real world. even anarchism is gonna be hard to pull if you can't find a way to protect a region bigger than your backyard from outside threats. Anarchism embodies a sort of individualism but some stuff you can only overcome with collective action. I find Nostr and Linux working more because of that collective spirit. Venezuela couldn't have resisted so many attempts without it. image
While I have mixed feelings about this presentation, I'm quoting and sharing it for awareness of the struggles the people of Venezuela are going through and for awareness of the evils of government-fostered inflation. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 I believe there are better solutions to these problems than regime change. Please feel free to browse my libraries (below) to get the gist of what I have in mind.

How does the main opposition leader "being a US ally" help the people of Venezuela? You literally wrote a book about how latin leaders under western influence wholesale their country to the West under IMF and World Bank. Or is it different this time ??
a suggestion: include the donation link that only pops up for a small duration in the video in your post in the future for easier access. Or something like "any zaps to this post will directly transferred and donated to strengthen the efforts of the Venezuelan opposition cause"? (or even link the zaps to their bitcoin address if that is possible)
Machado is a member of an opposition, with the aid of the US State department committed nationwide violence and assisted in attempted coups in order to create instability and take back control of Venezuelan resources to enrich global elite and multinational corporations. Chàves' major crime was taking control of the oil of Venezuela for the benefit of the people of Venezuela instead of a few connected elites. Machado represents these elites. Chavistas stole nothing but the US and UK stole gold and other assets worth billions from Venezuela. She is just Juan Guaido 2.0... who is such a patriotic Venezuelan he lives in Miami and Maduro is such a dictator that he was allowed to walk the streets free in Venezuela after taking part in an attempted coup and taking control of Citgo assets in the US. don't be fooled into pushing CIA propaganda just because somebody talks favorably about Bitcoin. you need to be smarter than that
Certainly, some of us used Bitcoin as a monetary lifeline to the ill-fated hyperinflation of years ago. Unfortunately, not everyone entered this world. The smoke that chavismo sold with its cryptocurrency somewhat tarnished the term. Coupled with poor electric power services and stable internet access, this complicates things for the most novice user. The fact that it will be used at some point by the State, as she suggests, may encourage curiosity. And to think that with the amount of energy dammed under the ground (oil) would be an incentive for a large mining industry, has been very interesting for many. But all that for now are dreams as long as the Chavista scum are in power. For now few of us can use Bitcoin as an anti-State tool and not have the risk of inflation (which these days is becoming high again). Besides having out of Venezuelan banks our Money. And that this is blocked for thinking differently by these banks that may be an appendix of the state. View quoted note →
