X vs the EU: Whoever loses, we win 😁 Either the scenario in which (a) the EU bans X or (b) X just decides to "rage quit" the whole Eurozone, millions of users will get dumped onto alternatives. And that means BlueSky, Mastodon, and (some) go to Nostr. The _worst_ case scenario is where they come to some compromise. The platform will continue to become enshittifed no matter what, but it will be a boiling frog / slow drip scenario, instead out "out of the frying pan into the fire."

Yeah... I mean Nostr is going to be pretty low on the "catch basin" relative to BSky and Mastodon. But the problem with BlueSky is, to the extent the EU is being unreasonably imperious in their demands, they're going to be forced into the exact same scenario as X. Compromise on free speech values or pull out. So I think that Mastodon will benefit, primarily. But that's why I'm so interested in building better protocol bridges, because eventually people will realize that Nostr is the "final destination."
