In the last few months I have made great progress with nostrmeet.me. I even went so far (too far?) as to submit a PR to NDK for gift wrapped direct messages … because, nobody wants to leave “cookie crumbs” of personal metadata behind when onboarding people in person. But it turns out OpenSats was not impressed, and denied my application (again) for funding social onboarding. Never got around to applying for HRF. I’m kinda over begging. As of today, the app is in a bit of disarray. Preparing for the MVP release “scan my QR to DM me with a move in ready account on Nostr”… well I didn’t get finished before the LV conference last week. And now I’m switching gears (yet again) because a guy has to be paid … at least this guy. No complaints, but I’ve discovered that people will pay more readily for solving their immediate problems … and onboarding might just be the kind of problem that is always someone else’s problem? I dunno. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyhow… I’m still focused on onboarding, but am pivoting to onboarding businesses to build apps on Nostr. I think I have an angle to solve for the “chicken and egg” problem of growing the network of users … without enough users on the network. Stay tuned for more on this, and how my work on nostrmeet.me will be incorporated (and possibly even funded directly) by providing business solutions for Nostr.
