Experience without embodiment is entertainment. Television was the first proto-metaverse. Before the internet dissolved reality, television did. Most of these “old people” aren’t witnesses - they’re inheritors of propaganda. The sacred act of witnessing was industrialized. Civilization’s memory is now algorithmic.
