Once you deny the existence of God it's a slow downward slope to the denial of imago dei then to the denial of human rights, then to nihilism and finally a might makes right, will-to-power ideology.
It's a dark and sociopathic ideology, without hope or redemption. And it's this darkness which was exposed yesterday which has rocked me.
I'm a Christian, so it's days like this where I have to suppress all of my sinful instincts to hate on my enemies, to point and wag my finger, to even enjoy the condemnation they are receiving. Instead, I follow my master's commandment to love them and to pray for them.
Because it's not Charlie or his family that need saving, it's the people celebrating his death.

Sergei Nechaev. Read his wiki page. These people are possessed by demons.
"he [a revolutionary] has severed every link with the social order and with the entire civilized world; with the laws, good manners, conventions, and morality of that world. He is its merciless enemy and continues to inhabit it with only one purpose β to destroy it."
This is what drives socialists, do not be fooled, it is a deeply anti-human ideology.
They are lost. And you canβt save everyone.
God bless you Jimmy!
Hopefully they burn in hell.
I always wondered why one would need an external authority for that kind of self-restraint/regulation, especially if one is so thoughtful / self-conscious and reflective already.
Isnβt it sufficient to realise the others are human like oneself and that one can/should not expect from others what one is not willing to do oneself to become kind/good/empathetic?
The optimal state of humanity is cooperation, despite your need for this - in fashion submission to a god virtue signalling.
Just because you require a coercive, morality instruction manual doesn't mean the majority do. Most people, most of the time, act morally without the need for manipulative governance structures.
Bitcoin removes central banking as a tool of control so as the state tries to maintain power at scale, what will it turn to next? Maybe old weapons like organized religion.
I denied the vengeful, judgemental God that pushed me away from Christianity.
I rejected Christianity & eventually Buddhism, Atheism, Agnosticism & all the other isms.
I found the creator within & I surrendered to Him via my soul. I didn't know it at the time but I believe this is the heart of what Jesus taught.
I found it interesting that my note to Hodl echoes your sentiment. Perhaps it's the resulting separation & division that makes me reluctant to identify as a Christian. π€·

I resonate with nearly everything you said man. Interestingly I thought of you & all the other Bitcoiners who speak because they're feel called to. I have massive respect & I somewhat fear that one day I might receive that same calling.
One thing that didn't resonate was the focus on the They who perpetrated the Evil. In my mind his death will likely mark a significant shift in how people show up now. Focusing on the other, on the select few who choose to suppress the divinity that we are all born with, is a mistake. Love them for they know not what they do. Love them as they are hoisted by a noose & dangle in the wind, but love them.
Use your anger to find what is truly sacred to you and ultimately use it to fuel your calling. Free speech is critical. Ridding the world of evil doers is not, but actions have consequences.
Love you bro π«π

If you need an imaginary god in the sky to tell you not to bad things to your fellow humans you seriously need to reconsider your moral framework
Amazed to see some comments here of very based nostriches not needing an imaginary authority to act like a normal person. NOSTR will win
I'm always amazed that so many bitcoiners spout "don't trust, verify"... And then have faith in a god. Irrational.
There are days like these every day of the year. It's just that we care more about some deaths than others.
