There is a reason followers of The Way used to pledge their life to king Yeshua and unconditionally refused to bow to king Caesar.
So far from their politically dissident heritage, the vast majority of 'believers' today instead willfully and joyfully collaborate with and serve ha-satan's kings and its empires.
Instead of avowing their vocation – requiring life-altering duties and responsibilities – as a foreign ambassador of the one, true kingdom, they pledge their lives to the false ones they live under.
Maybe one day in the future they will re-learn what their ancestors knew deeply:
"sin" = treason
"faith" = allegiance
...and actually take Revelation 17-18 seriously.

Jesus said render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's. All the Christians took that to mean go lick boot.
As an atheist and anarchist I noticed that if taxation is theft, none of that is Caesar's. It is a command from Jesus to commit tax fraud.
Tale as old as time. The government hated them so they hated the government. Then the anti goverment group finally gets a seat at the table and rather than limit the government so no one gets persecuted, they just change a few rules so they can persecute who they want using the governments power instead. Usually this means making the government even more powerful.
