Info thread: #GrapheneOS is being heavily targeted by the French state because we provide highly secure devices and won't include backdoors for law enforcement access to our software. They're conflating us with companies selling closed source products using portions of our code. Considering it is easy to search GrapheneOS online and read our documentation, you can only assume this is intentional. Both French state media and corporate media are publishing many stories attacking the GrapheneOS project based on false and unsubstantiated claims from French law enforcement. This has even escalated to broadcast media. They've made a clear threat to seize our servers and arrest our developers if we do not cooperate by adding backdoors. Due to this, we're leaving French service providers and will leave / never operate in France. In these attack pieces, they describe GrapheneOS with features not present in our software and showing sites and guides not in our control nor authored by us. We need substantial help from the community to push back against this across platforms. People malicious towards us are also using it as an opportunity to spread libel/harassment content targeting our team, raid our chat rooms and much more. /e/ and iodéOS are both based in France, and are both actively attacking GrapheneOS. /e/ receives substantial government funding. Both are extremely non-private and insecure which is why France is targeting us while those get government funding. We need a lot more help than usual and we're sending out a notification for situational awareness. If people help us, it will enable us to focus more on development again including releasing experimental Pixel 10 releases very soon. Spread the word about this current situation. Initial thread:

Always remember that in 2011, the French state and the media it controls organized and carried out the second NATO war of aggression against Libya, which completely destroyed that country. The first NATO war of aggression took place 25 years earlier. Nothing about this state or the European Union is trustworthy.
Sad to read this. Let’s stay in touch/discuss and document the facts of attacks. Im sure you are EU citizens in majority. If so - we need to activate your representatives in the EU parliament and not only, other institutions to expose and explain attacks. Happy to support your privacy protection tool. When you find the spot that hurts gov, you are probably doing a great job. Don´t back down! We are in times of socialism rising, powergrips tightening, less rights for human beings, more taxes (are theft) and other "duties" the state thinks we owe them tyrants, while kicking in doors for memes. Resistance is a revolutionary act in these times. GrapheneOS is one of the last digital countermeasures we absolutely need. And it will get a lot more uncomfortable before freedom rises again. Never back down!
While this is abysmal, it's not shocking - it's France 🇫🇷, like many EU 🇪🇺 counterparts, a sold Zionist colonial, apartheid state that parasites Africa for everything. It begets a bigger question that has been an open wound in Crypto for years too: ❓ When will we run our own servers ❓ When will we realize that until we continue to use (1) Centralized (2) Privacy wrecking (3) Data-harvesting (4) Zionist platforms, we cannot be free? 1️⃣ All cloud computing Google, Azure, AWS, is included 2️⃣all Dockers, Kubernetes, Data Dog are included 3️⃣all DataBases, data storage, data lakes 4️⃣ all security, most VPNs, all LLM modules to add into your code - ANY and ALL reliance on the above makes you vulnerable for centralized control 🛂 ❓When will we collectively just move away from Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft?? This alone will make a HUGE difference in Palantir's/Pegasus/Cellebrite standard rip-out scripts ❓Nodal structures and Validators worked for crypto, how can we replicate this for non crypto businesses whilst leveraging the Blockchain? ❓How can crypto app stores host Torrent apps, wallet apps, self custody apps, etc with geographical redundancy?
