Stop bitching and take some initiative. Asking permission has never worked. Anyone in Calgary that wants to bootstrap a local Bitcoin circular economy with me, it's happening. Here comes the Saturday SAT market. Help me build it. FURTHERMORE - even if you aren't local to Calgary, your amplification helps A LOT. It makes sure that people are aware and it also encourages others to do this at home. EVERY TOWN AND CITY NEEDS THIS. OPA link: Meetup link:

Damn, I've had a bitcoin store up for a couple weeks and haven't had a single sale. I also am making improvements to the Magic Web Store software so others can do the same and AFAIK, nobody started their own shop. It appears being a famous vtuber helps in getting people to **actually participate** in the circular economy! πŸ˜„ Keep up the good work!
I'm in a blockchain club (closest to a bitcoin club that I could find in my town), talked to sellers at the farmers market, posed on social media, told my friends. I make sure I always check the "accepts cryptocurrency" when selling things on Craigslist. Talked to people at my Makerspace I'm the first to admit that I don't excel at these "social" things. I tend to mention it once to a person and if they don't seem interested, I'm unlikely to bring it up again with them. I don't want to be anoying.
UPDATE: For the upcoming "Saturday SAT Market" next month in Calgary, we have 21 vendors... beef, sausage, lamb, chicken, eggs, cheese, soap, lotions, gift cards, grains/flour, baked goods, apparel, art, carpentry/renos, solar panels, IT consulting, home heating/plumbing, inuit carvings, life coaching, AV services, a candy store... and a partridge in a pear tree. Man if I wasn’t working retarded hours all the time spring summer and fall I’d have the infrastructure set up already to add a Bitcoin element to our weekly farmers market up here in Bonnyville AB. I’ve got a list as long as my arm of projects I need to do aimed at setting up persistent servers for processing and confirming on chain and lightning payments for people up here, and be able to offer plug and play POS solutions to local businesses. Winter should afford me more time to migrate everything from the frustrating half baked setup I started with last winter on Umbrel and get onto Start9 Server at last. That and getting squared away on the wealth of knowledge Wicked has on UTXO management and more of Sessions’ material surrounding multi-sig. So much to learn. So little time. I am, however, so stoked to learn since joining Nostr that we have such a great bunch of Bitcoiners here in AB. I’ll have to break down and get on OPA to accelerate the process of meeting more of you.
