Modular?
the hashboards are easily replaceable for upgrades and repairs
Yeah ok nice⦠also gives the Mac Pro vibes⦠modular is the way to go less waste if achievable.
Great to see π€
incredible design and efficiency. and the best part: the firmware is open source!

Looks like way too much miner for most home users, 3x the hash boards of an s19 or s21 in a single also larger chassis.
I need a miner I can run off single phase 220 without using half a panel worth of breakers and filling a room.
That doesn't just hurt home miners it hurts industrial miners because used sales to home miners is a part of their TCO calculation.
It would be cool if this could be broken into a third. It looks like it almost is anyway.
It meets a want on the free market. Market share of home oriented design is still open for any entrepreneur to capture.
Exactly. I need something that fits in a cooler that costs less than the miner so I can do immersion mining with liquid to liquid heat exchangers for my various uses for hot water and or antifreeze.
You should try reading to the end of a post before you reply.
Hurting industrial miners is a win to me, not gonna lie lmao
I need a miner that can replace my old S9 cabin heater that died this spring. I guess this is a little over the topβ¦ π
Any suggestions?
Maybe just another S9, depends. How much heat do you need and how often?
You can run 1, 2, or 3 hashboards at a time on an s19.
I usually had it turned on from November until May, clocked to 1250w. Main purpose was to keep the pipes my cabin from not freezing during winter, the few sats I got was just fun.
An s19 can hit that wattage with only 2 hash boards enabled. Up to you if that cost difference and w/th difference works out in the long run.
Industrial miners get smashed from all angles, but that is their risk. The difficulty adjustment ensures that I don't give a fuck.
What is power consumption on that kind of thing anyway? Last time i mined was time when we used mining USB sticks :D
those were just a scam
USB miners? No they were not. I mined nice ammount with what i bought. I think i still have one somewhere in a drawer. Lovely memorabilia.
It is, but it would be cool if it could be 1/3. I wouldn't buy something like this used for home mining.

Iβm super curious to see the price and actual release date.
But this is indeed peak miner technology.
This is peak low time preference mining technology right here. I just wish they had announced a price and availability date.

Wow Perfectπ₯π₯
Very cool - but price is gonna be key for commercial miners.
Itβs be interested to know if Block will also target home node runners as well which could bring about further decentralisation. As Iβm not clear how new more efficient miners for existing commercial orgs helps decentralisation.
Perhaps the idea of the βhashboardβ could be applied to a simple PCIe hashboard that you can slot into your existing home node hardware / AI home server.

not bitmain?
not bitmain
proto mining by block
Finally.
finally mining is getting commoditized
hopefully
it really is impressive

Wish they did 110V
looks amazing/slick
Beautiful design and marketing is underrated. The team at Block are doing an insanely good job on that front.
Looks slick as hell, where can I find Block's website?

testing zaps for this noteβ¦ we made six attempts toβ‘zap this note, at chrissysage@speed.app, over a period of 18 minutes. Five of the zaps were successfully paid... please check for 5 satoshis received. problem: we found that your lightning address server **did not* properly produce zap receipts, and/or didn't send the zap receipts to the relays specified in the zap. (the zap spec requires that the zap receipts be sent to the relays specified in the zap.) this means a nostr user who zaps you might not see a number appearing next to the β‘ icon after zapping.... if you wanted to fix this... you could try getting a free rizful lightning address --
... if u get it set up, pls reply here so we can do this β‘zap test again.

Rizful: Lightning Services
Free Lightning vaults, and instant, disposable Lightning Nodes.
sorry about that i signed up on your program its chrissysage@rizful.com
Great, looks like you've set up a Lightning Address with Rizful. You're 1/2 of the way there! Please follow the tutorial for your Nostr app here to learn how to connect your app to Rizful:
Once you've finished, please ping us back here so we can try to zap you!

Using Rizful.com | Megalith Lightning Docs
Rizful is an easy way to send & receive Lightning payments, either through the web, or via Nostr Wallet Connect.
Might need to get one just for some living room decoration.
With Stratum v2 support out of the box!

Love seein @jack go all in on BTC. I bet the 3nm chips on the new proto rigs are kickin!
Need more decentralization in the mining space.

Why "contact sales" though? I imagine this means it's an enterprise, rather than consumer, product.
Holy shit, my BitAxe mining rig is beautiful.

Honestly hyped for the new miner. I gotta make plans now so I can consolidate my miners for these. βοΈπ₯ #Bitcoin #Mining #Bitcoinmining #Homemining

when's the release date?
Hardware requirements for validators for the Nimiq blockchain are far lower - so a highly expensive new Nimiq validator rig isn't even a thing!
We all know why Block rocks!!!
