Bitcoin mining sous-vide slow cooker, I wonder how well it would work? I'm thinking I could cook some meat in a sealed package in the oil of the Bitcoin mining hot water heater. image The temperature range of the oil is pretty much perfect for sous-vide. 60c at the low end and 74c at the top end. I could probably fudge it one way or another if need be. image What could go wrong?!... Imagine a contraption that mines Bitcoin, heats your water, cooks your dinner. Wow. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #meshtadel #bitcoin #bitcoinmining #plebminer #homemining #stackingfunctions

Could and should are two different things here. Plenty of other convenient cooking methods to use to avoid the micro plastics. Until miners can condense heat output to a heating element cooking with miners is kinda limiting. A miner heated insulated box to subsidize the heat from a crock pot perhaps?

I'm not super familiar with the cooking method, but gather the food is in direct contact with plastic during cooking temps... Which is a no go in my wife's kitchen. I suspect silicon will be one of those things decades from now that's found to not be as safe as the claims make it seem. (I'm not saying don't do this, I don't care what other people do, but considering scientific research is finding micro plastics in our blood, muscle tissues, including heart, and more it's not something I'd recommend personally. We only get one body. Health over wealth.) If mining heat could be concentrated it would open up so much more potential.
60°c is the perfect temp for black garlic. Regular garlic has to sit at that temp for an extended period of time and then it chemically changes. Most black garlic is grown, prepared and packed overseas, so some people are leery of it. That would be a great value add for local grown garlic that was grown responsibly.
I grow a shit load of garlic!

Garlic thriving in the food forest; harvesting scapes Time to harvest the scapes on the garlic in the food forest so the plants can put their energy into growing the bulbs instead of flowers. Looking forward to garlic scape pesto and meat marinades. #permaculture #permies #homesteading #grownostr #selfsovereignty #meshtadel #foodforest #gardening #garlic #garlicstr #subsistancecrop View quoted note →

The Bitcoin mining hot water heater is also a sous-vide slow cooker! I couldn't help myself and had to try cooking something in the oil of the bitcoin mining hot water heater, so I ordered up a reusable silicone bag. I had a couple neck roasts lambs I had recently butchered here at the homestead, which were a pretty low risk roast to sacrifice if it didn't turn out. I coated the roasts with olive oil, rosemary, thyme, and salt along with garlic and onion and tossed it all in the bag. I cooked the roasts for about 3 days in the hot canola oil bath, and I was shocked at how well it turned out! Scrumptious aromas and flavors of the fall off the bone meat. Wonder what I should try next? #permaculture #homesteading #permies #meshtadel #bitcoin #bitcoinmining #plebminer #foodstr #sousvide #seedoil #lamb #stackingfunctions #doublespendenergy
