But not optional if you want a custom address correct? KYC if you want to buy btc via WoS? Enjoy not having email attached.

Oh ok, that is the point that you are trying to make. I use hot wallets like I use a watch, a car, or even an ex girlfriend. It’s mine until the battery runs out, the gas is gone, or the rightful owner shows up to take her away. When that happens I have more toys stored in cold storage with my private keys protected. In the mean time…I get a lot of usage and appreciate the great apps that people spend their energy on creating and maintaining for us. What can I say. I’m a tech guy that enjoys doing tech-y things.

You are 100% correct. I did get excited about the email type naming scheme. In all seriousness I would like to know more about WOS. Which bank owns them? I honestly wasn’t aware.

Yes - your old generated address will continue to work! The only time you'll lose a lightning address is if you give up a 'custom' address to get a different 'custom' address.
