Well said. There is definitely a need for a flexible security/standards layer. Core's obsession with protocol consensus only and nothing else is a serious problem. Protocol consensus is nearly impossible to change, these are like laws of physics. Standards are for quickly adapting to changing conditions, like cultural norms and customs. Both are needed.
