the best detox you can do is a digital one.
1. start by spending your whole day outside hiking or biking or exploring. Keep your phone off. Doing a physical activity will make 8hrs easy.
2. Stretch your detox to two days. Over a holiday is easiest at first when "less is going on".
3. Try one week with a flip phone. Get used to printing out directions and reviving your own navigation skills. Learn to be ok not taking a picture of everything. Write down ideas until you return back home to a desktop.
if you get good at this, you slowly break the habit of checking in on social media, and scrolling through news even if you have a smartphone with you.
eventually, you will reactivate a brain that used to be more comfortable without disruptions than with them.
