We see it over and over. Companies with an "engineering department" where their star engineers creativity is stifled yet their candles burn at both ends. They are given unreasonable deadlines and expected to meet them, yet they never do, because their management knows their engineering teams are too busy to plan and underqualified to estimate effort.
