Yesterday I found CodeFloe: A public Forgejo (Git server) instance that is open to any projects and users. Unlike Codeberg, it it not limited to Open Source licensed projects. If you were thinking "Codeberg is nice, but what about my personal closed-source projects?" - this might be a solution for you! The instance is hosted in Germany by "devYX GmbH", a swiss company. They're doing backups and are carefully designing their infrastructure. And they're very open about how it all works and what software they use. 👏

Versuch #3, mit Vivaldi warm zu werden. Bin ja bisher eiserner Firefox Nutzer und habe mir viel bieten lassen, aber die aktuellen Entwicklungen versprechen eine derart düstere Zukunft, dass ich es lieber schon jetzt einen Umstieg versuche. Sehr, sehr schade. Denn ich schätze es total, dass Firefox eben _nicht_ Chromium nutzt, sondern eine eigene Engine. Das würde sich mit Vivaldi ändern. Aber was soll ich tun? Mozilla hat total den Fokus und die Bodenhaftung verloren. Wenn ich noch etwas mit dem Namen "Mozilla" unterstützen will, dann ist es die Mozilla Foundation, welche u.A. Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich einem Kunden empfohlen, doch bitte Backups für seine Server einzurichten. Das haben wir dann gemacht. Heute ist sein Server nicht mehr hochzukriegen und das Dateisystem ist wohl im Eimer 🙃. Gut, dass wir das gemacht haben! Jetzt haben wir immerhin Backups. So. Mal sehen, ob die denn überhaupt funktionieren ... xD (nein, tägliche / wöchentliche Restores haben wir noch nicht :P )
Frage an die Lötexperten unter euch: Ich habe kein Lötzinn mehr für meine Elektronikprojekte (Raspi, Arduino,...) und suche nach einem günstigen und geeigneten Zinn. Es gibt ja eine relativ gute Auswahl für alle möglichen Anwendungsbereiche. Welches könnt ihr empfehlen? Gerne auch fair. #löten #elektronik

The upgrade process was a bit tricky in my particular case because I missed to specify "DB_PORT=5432" when running the database migrations (which later caused a broken DB) and I needed to run $ nvm install 22.12 $ corepack enable $ corepack use yarn@4.10.3 before running $ RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rails assets:precompile ... but it works now 🥳 #metalheadclub
