I wish software and websites would kindly stop assuming I want my UI to be in Dutch just because I happen to be Dutch.
Since the first time I used a computer, at 5 years old in 1989, I've used them in English. I do not want Dutch in my UIs, ever.

How stupid of an idea would it be to run a simplified copy of @npub1wyuk...58gh on HP-UX from my home?
You know, I do run a technology news website. I could just contact, say, Minisforum and see if they're interested in sending over a review unit mini PC.

While the UK has a million problems, the right-wing talking point over "arrests for social media posts" is entirely fake, made up, and 100% bullshit. The reality is that the number of people convicted for online posts in the UK has declined sharply since 2015 - from about 2000 then to less than 1100 in 2025. Of note is that only about 10% of those received any prison time, and the majority of those were less than two months long.
And no, those convictions weren't over shitposts, but posts inciting actual violence, calling for murder, abuse and god knows what else - like right-wingers calling for burning down asylum centers or killing non-white children.
So, if you see right-wing lunatics ejaculating over social media posts arrests in the UK - it's bullshit. None of it is true.

I mean, if violent games get ratings and NSFW tags, so should bible and quran applications. Just because they're considered "religious" books by some should not set them apart from any other content. There's some real fucked up shit in those books, and if an application store has policies to label NSFW content, whether they be in games, books, movies, etc., there should not be exceptions for the bible or quran or any other "religious" books.
Why should, say, the Game of Thrones books be labeled with warnings about violence and sex, but the bible or quran should not?
I love it when right-wing extremists claim the EU is trash compared to the US. Here's some numbers.
- Homicide rate in US is 5 times as high as in the EU.
- Traffic death rate in the US is 30 times as high as in the EU.
- Poverty rates are higher in the US than in the EU.
- Life expectancy in the US is several years shorter than in the EU.
- Medical bankruptcy is effectively a US-only phenomenon, and extremely common there.
- Health outcomes in the US are trash compared to the EU.
- Number of overdose deaths in the US is substantially higher than in the EU.
- Americans are far less happy than Europeans.
And this is just a small selection. The US is a third-world country with a small number of ultra-wealthy individuals tricking dumb fucks that they're better off than the rest of the world.

My lovely nerds, what are y'all using on Android if you're using LibreWolf on your desktop/laptop?
I'm finally making the switch but I need an Android client.
This is now like the 6th machine I tried that just refuses to boot the OpenIndiana live USB into its graphical environment. Always the same error: graphical-login/lightdm fails. Intel, NVIDIA, AMD - it doesn't matter. The log always shows the same thing: failed to get list of logind seats, followed by something about the name org.freedesktop.login1 not being provided by any service files.
Wtf is this?
