@James Cridland reports that @npub1rcnr...dw4h is concerned with the amount of AI slop entering the index. In a recent episode of Podcasting 2.0, he says there are already 10,000 AI feeds - flooding into the index and costing it real money. In our new analytics dashboards (coming January) TrueFans can now quantify that cost because we stream each episode, we are seeing which apps and which bots are listening and for how long. In this episode we have over 10 bots listening for 20+ hours.

Threads saying the quiet part out aloud. They never cared about the Fediverse. It was a good way to get people to sign up and cheer them on. This is a typical Meta bait and switch strategy. Start open or promise open and then switch to their proprietary services. Facebook used to have an RSS feed and used to support the ActivityStreams and then one day it didn’t. Twitter and YouTube killed their RSS feeds when they got scale.

We also breakout this data further to show you the number of plays and listen time for each app that consumed your episode.
