Just was talking to a Singaporean guy who was able to take a Japanese Yen denominated loan from a Singaporean bank to buy a Japanese rental property (income above costs apparently) and Japanese govt gave him immediately a 10% tax rebate of some sorts. Can you say Japanese Carry trade? Apparently lots of 'smart finance people' have been doing it and 'the Japanese govt is very conservative about changing interest rates' even though he knew that they just did raise interest rates for first time in decades (?). I asked what happens if Japanese interest rates go up? He said his costs will increase but they are still low right now. I said the entire world is in the same boat. He seemed unsure about that propsect 😒. I didn't bother with the Bitcoin speech, he's too far deep and I just met him in line at the airport. Lucky fella escaped unscathed! But Bitcoin.
Interesting info on BRICS new Currency white paper. Not that it is a replacement for BTC or anything but interesting to see what they are up to. Its somewhat decentralized (not like BTC) compared to existing USD, is backed by a basket of commodities including Gold (we know how this ends) and each country holds its own amount of these commodities and these are not stored in one place, is run on a decentralized ledger where each sovereign acts as a node. A BRICS currency might be important milestone to know about as it offers a competitor to US Govt Bonds and would slowly defund the US Govt and empire. Once more sovereign Govts see US Govt Bonds as a bad buy a BRICS currency may be somthing they opt for instead. Demand for US Govt Bonds are decreasing due to US Govt doing stupid shite like deleting Russian USD Govt Bonds and stealing Venezulean Gold (via Bank of England) on top of creating so much debt that they can't be considered able to pay it back in the future. US Govt Debt grows as 3.5% of GDP and GDP itself grows at 3% meaning slowly but surely the debt will become a larger and larger part of where GDP goes to. They will then issue more debt to pay for this worsening the problem creating a debt spiral of epic proportions. Buy Bitcoin #bitcoin #btc #macro #gold #brics #plebchain
Very good episode on monetary corruption and some BTC speculation. Whitney and Mark aren't always correct but I think its important to have people prying to see what is loose and what is solid so to speak. #podcast #banking #macro #btc #whitneywebb #plebchain
Why is BTC more sensitive that Gold in terms of market cap? For eg Mark Moss says BTC goes up $9 for every $1 that comes in. Some others say 4/5 per $1 in market cap. But what is the reason for this? I assume it's because BTC is a more diff asset to increase the supply of ie more 'hardened' and therfore more secure in fiat monetary problematic times. Is this correct in your opinion or another reason? #asknostr #macro #politics #economics #plebchain #btc #gold #bitcoin #nostr
Some people saying BTC cycles are over... the sideways market is getting to people and its showing... "Cycle not broken it just changes each time slightly. Kamala just proposed $750 to citizens, China is doing QE, FED is lowering rates, increased war looks probable, new US admin into office soon, debt ceiling in US renegotiate in Jan 25, debt repayments on 35 trillion. Plenty of reasons to turn on the printer. People just forget as 4 years can sometimes feel long. BTC will top in Q4 25 1 year after elections as it has done twice before imo." #btc #macro #politics #bitcoin #nostr
