The amount of mothballed, rug pulled, spun out, rejected by actual humans projects, stacks, protocols, platforms that had low barrier access to "tech" funding, fedi adjacent alone reads like a google graveyard. Devs, possibly oblivious to malice, often very disjointed from the probable use cases, needs and struggles of others reckon they have THE idea "we" need. This gets funding based on speed of code rather than considering communities to engage co-dev for tools we actually want or need. 1/

Didn't get much sleep last night. Greenhouse temp got down to around 5. Outside was waffling around 2! Flashbacks to some of last years 6 summer frosts that wiped out heaps and set us back so much. Not today happily. Orchards and young field crops fine and was another sunny day pushing 40 in greenhouse. Wild. Enjoy some early raspberries under and around figs in the greenhouse before things like tomatoes and cucumbers dominate the airspace. Garden hard! #fediFarm #gardening #soilspondence

From my rounds of the grounds yesterday. I wouldn't call it sage advice but I do advise sage even if in a pot in a small space. For serious even green varieties have many health and of course culinary uses, are bee friendly and I reckon handsome as! Being an awesome perenial I've lost track, probably over 100 transplants started from seed around are the place and have made lovely rows and clusters amongst other crops and trees. Feel like the feed needs some balance again. Have some flowers and some positive soil building. Also the first proper overs of the season have been bowled albeit clunky and in spite of ph. One of the mobile chook houses and runs is the Chicken Palace Grandstand. The "batting end" is the Controlfreak Memorial Compost Pavillion end. Oh my I just can't with the feed today. Maybe you can't either. Here have a rustic bouquet. Heaps of our marginal spaces or spots that should or could never be food are becoming increasingly and perpetually bathed in flowers and herbs of all manner. Fuck yesterday (Monday), flat battery in main vehicle when needed, chainsaw blew out a chain when needed, a weld on a farm implement packed a sad when needed... get the theme? Today however aside from a cracked hose failing on a sprayer and spewing 6 month old seaweed and fish compost tea in muh hair I got way more done than body should.
