Mom of 3 on a meat based healing journey. Sharing faith, ADHD mom life, and simple food that actually works for our family. Podcast, Bible, and real talk as I figure this out in real time.
I was a mess for a long time. Anxiety all day. So tired I could barely function. Brain fog on top of microscopic colitis. I kept trying to fix it. Keto. Gut protocols. More veggies, less meat. Everyone said it was healthy and I kept feeling worse. In today’s podcast I share what finally started to help when I changed how I was eating and kept it simple with meat based meals. If you want to hear the full story, Episode 2 is on YouTube on the Kristin Carrera Podcast. Link: My free Carnivore Beginner Guide is also in my bio. Or you can get it here: kristincarrera.kit.com/free-carnivore-beginner-guide When you grab the guide you will get details about the free 30 day carnivore group challenge starting January 1st so we can do this together. I almost quit all of this. Podcast. Content. Sharing my story at all. Life felt too full. Three boys. Home. My health. Trying to show up online with an ADHD brain that was already overloaded. So I stepped back. I needed quiet and I needed to get honest about what was and was not working. In my first Podcast Episode back after almost 6 months off, I share why I took a break, how I am shifting to a simple meat based way of eating, and how faith fits into all of it. If you are a tired mom who wants to feel better, love God, work with your ADHD brain and feed your family in a way that actually fits your life, this episode is for you. You can watch or listen to the full first episode here: 👇 If any part of this feels like you, tell me in the comments so I know I am not alone. #podcast #carnivore #meatbased
I have been quiet on here for a bit and spending a lot more time in my Bible. It has me asking God what would actually be the most helpful thing for me to share in this season. I am bringing my podcast back and I want what I post here to line up with that instead of just throwing out random content. Right now I keep circling around four lanes: ✨CARNIVORE + MEAT BASED and how it changed my health ✨ KIDS HEALTHY EATING and keeping food simple at home ✨ MOM LIFE WITH ADHD AND KIDS WITH ADHD and learning to work with our brains ✨ FAITH + BIBLE STUDY and trying to walk this out in a messy life If you had to pick one for me to go deeper on over the next few months, which one would you choose and why? Comment with the word that fits you most: CARNIVORE KIDS ADHD FAITH I would really love to hear your honest answer. image
I didn’t expect to actually look forward to reading the Bible every day. It’s been 4 weeks straight that I’ve opened it and read every single day. I’ve been using the Bible app to help me pray and stay consistent, and it’s become something I truly enjoy. The Bible is so interesting once you start reading it. It’s this incredible story that pulls you in and makes you want to keep going. I find myself wanting to know what happens next. Staying consistent with anything can be hard, but once you turn it into a habit it starts to feel natural. They say it takes about 21 days to build one, and I can see why. I’d love to connect with others who are in this same place, or even just thinking about starting. Has reading the Bible been on your mind lately? #biblestudy #habits #momlife #sahmom image
I used to walk past my Bible every day. Now I can’t start my day without it. Lately I’ve been reflecting a lot. I’ve felt like some things have been out of my control, and that makes me anxious, worried, and scared. Life keeps moving, and sometimes that can make a person feel lost. With everything that’s been happening in the world, I started noticing more people talking about the Bible. I’ve had mine since I was a teenager. My uncle gave it to me. I’ve tried picking it up a few times over the years but never got very far. I grew up Catholic, but I never really felt that comfort or connection people talk about. It’s hard to explain, but I never felt deeply connected to a church before. Still, it’s been on my mind for a while now to start going back, to talk about the Bible with my kids, and to teach them about Jesus and God. Then my oldest son told me he wanted to go to church, so we finally found one. We’ve been going for the past two weekends. Even before that, I started reading my Bible every day. I can’t explain it fully, but I feel this pull to read, to learn, to connect. I know I’m rambling a bit, but building this habit of reading and feeling that calling is something new for me, even at 42. If you’ve never felt that connection, I just want to remind you to open the Bible. Start reading. Start understanding. Sometimes I even use ChatGPT to help me understand certain things. I know that might sound funny, but with my ADHD brain, it helps me process and learn better. Use whatever tools help you grow. I’ve always believed you don’t need to go to church to pray to God, but after going these past two weekends, I can say there’s something special about being in that space with others who share the same faith. And yes, it’s only been two times so far, but we plan to keep going. It’s amazing how just two weekends can change the way you feel when you find a church that you start to connect with. It’s never too late to start. Even if it’s one page, one prayer, one Sunday at a time. If you’ve been feeling that same pull, don’t ignore it. Just start somewhere. I don’t know where this path will lead yet, but I finally feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be. Maybe that’s what faith is, finding your way back one small step at a time. Do you read the Bible? Have you been to church lately? Have you been thinking about it? Share your thoughts and let’s talk. #faith #biblestudy #womenandjesus #coffeechat #gm image
No one ever tells you that you’ll have to redo kindergarten to 12th grade multiple times as an adult depending on how many kids you have. These science fair projects are more for the parents than the kids. Prove me wrong. #sahm #scienceproject #momlife
✨ Small business owners, I want to hear from you! As a small business owner myself, I know how much there is to manage and how overwhelming social media can feel sometimes. Between posting, writing captions, keeping up with trends, and trying to stay consistent, it can get to be a lot. That’s why I’m reaching out here. I’m really trying to understand what you struggle with most when it comes to social media. Is it planning content? Writing captions? Creating graphics? Or just finding the time to do it all? I want to create resources that actually help small businesses, whether that’s done-for-you calendars, caption ideas, or simple templates you can use without needing a full-time social media manager. So tell me, what would make social media feel easier for you? Drop it in the comments or send me a DM. I’d really love to hear from you.
