With love, patience, and safety, they unlearn it. That’s the magic of rescue. One of my favourite humans, Robert Sapolsky, explains how behavior isn’t born from ‘evil', but from biology, stress, and circumstance. Yet our justice system is still stuck in a medieval mindset of blame and punishment. Medieval systems like prisons don’t heal — they just recycle pain.
