The new law forces users onto tiny, unregulated sites that can simply ignore the rules. Instead of keeping kids safe, it shoves them away from big, proven platforms and into corners of the web where age checks are non‑existent.

I stopped watching the news years ago and I'm better for it.
Age verification systems will create permanent records of user activity, compromising privacy and freedom of information. Governments and corporations are using the protection of children as a justification for widespread surveillance and censorship
