🥦🎩🏴‍☠️(((i))) Ⓐ ♥️🖤 Früher mal @finckendorff auf Twitter, aber schon vor Jahren gebannt, weil ich zu oft Nazis beleidigt habe. Gender outlaw. My pronouns are I/me, I don't care how others address me as long as I know they're talking to me.
Scientists have found again and again that no such thing as a "free will" can possibly exist in this universe, and that the way our brains work suggests that any kind of will, free or otherwise, is just an illusion the mind creates for some reason. I don't find this particularly disturbing because I'm aware that I'm just a sack of meat and bones that follows the natural laws of the universe just like any other thing. However, every time any scientists find any new evidence for the nonexistence of a free will, a bunch of philosophers will pop up from somewhere to declare why this is wrong, and why the free will absolutely does exist. What I want know is: Why are they so eager to rescue free will? Why are so many philosophers simply unable to accept that there is no such thing? What makes the absence of a free will so scandalous and horrible? I'm perfectly fine with being an upright walking storytelling naked ape without a free will.
