Computer-touching nerd, infodumping about Linux and firmware development. Opinions are my own and blah blah.
My train got delayed today so I pulled out my laptop and started playing a game. When it was time to get off the train I started panicking because I couldn't save (seems like you can only save at determined points in VA-11 Hall-A) but had to go, so I closed the lid and threw it in the backpack. Not only system had suspended without any issues, when I pulled the laptop out at my brother's place... game resumed as well and I could continue playing. Just like that. One of my friends owns a handheld running windows and he's upset with how buggy the suspend is, as it takes forever to suspend and games tend to crash... I'm (once again) really impressed with how far we've come with power management and suspend in mainline Linux. Not only this laptop lasts longer in Linux than it did with stock firmware and ChromeOS, it also suspends without any issues whatsoever.
