It felt good to be awash in feelings of optimism on Inauguration Day. But that was yesterday. Today, I’m a bit more sober-minded. In the midst of the fanfare and celebration, there were stark reminders of how far we’ve drifted away from our Christian roots and how foolish it is to put our hope in earthly princes. So while I am grateful for the sea change, I am reminded that my hope is in Christ. He is my sure and steady anchor, sovereign King over all.
