I never want a refrigerator that’s connected to the Internet in any way, shape, or form, let alone one with Gemini in it. 🫠 And this goes for virtually any other household object I can imagine. The Internet-of-Things has always been a near-uniformly terrible idea. @npub18e35...kv8z
RE: Yes! Yes! A thousand times, yes! I've been saying this all year. There is an unbelievable sea change happening around the world, and even still in the U.S. despite our administration’s idiotic war on renewable energy. That’s the *actual* revolutionary technology story of the year, and we’ll continue to see huge gains in the next one. Cheap, virtually unlimited clean power is a *game changer* for the human race. 🙌 View quoted note →
Everyone’s posting their #YearInReview and so of course I’m posting mine. 😁 #Year2025 was fairly unique for me in that I truly went through all four seasons in an emotional and energetic sense. My winter looked nothing like my spring which looked nothing like my summer which looked a bit like my fall but also sort of not. And I must admit, I rather liked that temporal topology! But first…I started out the year mad as hell and not gonna take it any more… #blog 🔗
I grew up close enough to San Francisco that it was simply known as The City. And in the late 2000s, I worked full-time at an online publishing company in SoMa. Commuted there by bus all the way from the North Bay for two years. I'm feeling pretty emotional about how much it sucks to be without power the Saturday before Christmas…but most importantly, how thoroughly unacceptable and frustrating it is for damn autonomous vehicles to be *fucking blocking public transit*. 🤬 Stay safe y'all. 🙏
