Note to self... If I try to start the motorhome and the starter battery is dead, and someone tries to help jump start it and it doesn't work, don't replace the starter battery with what I thought was a 12v house battery, only to later find out it was a 6v battery that was put in series with another 6v batter to make 12v. It doesn't work, and may cause you to think the alternator isn't working anymore, and almost buy and install another alternator, but thank God they didn't have one so you bought a new starter battery instead to limp the motorhome into town and cell service and food, only to discover after rewiring the house batteries to be in the right configuration, that there was nothing wrong with the alternator and replacing the starter battery was the only problem that's now fixed. Next time, it's okay to replace the starter battery and be on your way.
