Threads saying the quiet part out aloud. They never cared about the Fediverse. It was a good way to get people to sign up and cheer them on. This is a typical Meta bait and switch strategy. Start open or promise open and then switch to their proprietary services. Facebook used to have an RSS feed and used to support the ActivityStreams and then one day it didnβt.
Twitter and YouTube killed their RSS feeds when they got scale.
