I don't know exactly why my brain is doing this to me, but it seems like every couple days I seem to flip-flop between we live in a beautiful world and things are going great to what sort of dystopian shithole have we created for ourselves. At least lately I seem to be having a hard time finding some sort of in-between.
Gm. I love it when the homies start asking me about self-hosting.
So I guess Forbidden West specifically has an issue with something called Direct Storage in the Proton plugin, the way that it streams from Direct Storage causes way too much chop when walking in the world to make it playable. But I'm going to test it with Cyberpunk 2077 next because apparently that's the poster child for Linux gaming actually being good. View quoted note →
Testing on some Linux gaming stuff. I have DebianTrixie as my daily driver and I got Steam installed and now I'm installing Horizon Forbidden West. I'm gonna see how that runs. I might not need to dual boot for gaming, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do for Ableton. 😅 I tried using Bitwig in the past and I just can't seem to make the switch.
