C’est un acte politique au sens noble du terme : une manière de défendre les intérêts de la Nation en protégeant son capital des errances institutionnelles et des dépendances étrangères. En choisissant de convertir une partie de son épargne dans un actif décentralisé, chaque citoyen exerce une forme de souveraineté financière, proportionnelle à ce qu’il peut supporter de volatilité, mais réelle dans son effet cumulatif.
Car l’argent déposé dans le système bancaire n’est jamais inerte. Les fonds placés sur les comptes courants, les livrets, ou les contrats d’assurance vie sont automatiquement réalloués, principalement dans des fonds américains. Ces fonds, en retour, financent l’économie des États-Unis et, de manière systémique, leur stratégie d’acquisition d’actifs étrangers, y compris européens et français.
En d’autres termes, l’épargne nationale en euro, gérée par les banques et dans produits fisaux nationaux (PEA) contribue à renforcer la puissance économique d’États concurrents, parfois au détriment des intérêts stratégiques de la France.
