If you use any applications with small social communities or are a member of a small social community online, consider recommending that they rebuild their social features upon Nostr or that they run a @Ditto by Soapbox community server. If you're going the rebuilding of an existing social app route, recommend that they look into @Fountain and how @Oscar Merry rebuilt the application from a social walled garden into an open social ecosystem, leveraging Nostr. We ourselves have to be the marketing arms for Nostr. No one else is going to do this for us.

They were switching from a discord. I don't think they found any option functional enough. Do you mean coracle private groups? What's the other private group messaging thing, I forget (?). Neither are really ready enough or have adequate features for this scenario, maybe. They wanted off discord with little hassle and the same / similar functionality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What would you have suggested? One of them had a look around various options but didn't find a good fit.
We don't have a Discord style client yet, but a proof of concept is available using NIP-29 at This isn't for production use. Private groups can be used on Amethyst and Coracle and probably other clients too? Though this standard will probably go away as clients move to adopting NIP-104. Checkout Oddbean.com of you want a Reddit or forum style client.

Does anyone you’re aware of use PeerTube? They’ve added V4V and I can host from my own server, something I don’t think is possible with say Zap Stream, where I’m paying for uptime. I’d love to stream on my own platform but with Sats but coding is beyond my talents! I’m asking you as you are CEO after all .
