Building out a Start9 DIY node… - Refurbished - Dell Optiplex 7050 Micro… i7 3.2GHz 32 GB Ram My question. It comes with a 256GB SSD. Should I run Start9 Embassy OS on that drive and use the M.2 Slot 2TB / 4TB hard drive for the storage or just omit the 256GB OS drive and run it all on the M.2 2TB / 4TB? I’ve seen mixed reactions. Curious how my Nostr family reacts. Pros / Cons Etc.

Let me know if this bastidge overheats on IBD. I just got the exact samw setup (an i7 7050 Micro) and the fan went apeshit about an hour in and the machine hard cut the power. Running it without the cover now, and CPU temp reported at steady 37C. Maybe I have to refresh the thermal paste.

If it was me I would run it all on one drive... The multiple drive thing always seems to turn out to be way more complicated than it should be IMHO

M2. My first node used a 2.5" SSD and it had constant health warnings and issues staying connected. As soon as I switched to an m2 my issues vanished

I went ahead and splurged for the heat sink as well with the small form micro environment.
