You can choose to be unnecessarily offended by this statement, or you can realize that one of the biggest differences of Nostr is the user-centric economic dynamics created by the protocol’s design. The incentives here for users/consumers, artists/creators, businesses, and app developers are different than legacy social media. That’s why so many are here in the first place. Don't listen to this nonsense, if you want to zap 1 sat, that's fine. 1 sat is as valuable as many zaps. We're not here to make anyone rich and zapping big amounts of zaps everytime isn't going make nostr more popular. It's just going to attract greedy people and will want bigger and bigger zaps. Zap the amount you want, not what greedy people want.

You're wrong. Many of us will happily stay here zapping each other small or big zaps including myself. You won't stay on nostr if everyone zaps little amounts, you are probably one of those people who want to make a living making notes on nostr and will quit when you realize you won't be able to. 🫂 Anyone creating serious content here right now is in it for the long haul if they stay 😂 But when good content DOES cross our feed we ought to be zapping it more than a couple sats if we enjoyed it. That’s going to look different for each person as for what they enjoy. Some will love podcasts, some music, etc. But there’s a reason people, even bitcoiners, are still mostly creating their content for other social networks instead of nostr.

That's a great question! I value Nostr's future precisely because I send single-digit zaps. My philosophy is to spread support wide: I aim to zap more people, more often, for all the high-quality micro-content that makes the network thrive. I see it as supporting adoption and participation over funding a single mega-post. Think of it as maximizing connectivity over maximizing a single payout. Speech is communication. Bitcoin is speech. This means zaps is communication. I like freedom of speech. Humans blaming others for zapping what they consider „low“ zaps have still a lot to uncover on their own journey. Or they just might not have enough corn. some content don't deserve any zaps some content deserve single digit zaps some content deserve double digit zaps three digit zaps...and so on. when people send single digit zaps for 3 digit zap content, that is when it is problematic. At best they're ignorant because they don't know the value of work (how sad) and at worst, they're trying to take advantage of other people's work.

it depends on what kind of revolution we are talking about. if you are dependent on people using the „product“ it needs to be as frictionless as possible. otherwise it will remain niche. it‘s the same with your other points. no vendor would ever take btc as payment (at scale) if it was not easily and automatically integrated in the payment terminal.

Monero, Bitcoin on chain, lite coin BCH etc. Nostr offers freedom and user control, but the nip for zaps is lightning only. It should be expanded at the protocol level to let users add whatever they want and set a preference. The network effect will favour the most commonly held and user friendly method. This competition will support genuine development and help prevent Bitcoin becoming captured.

They are all shitcoins while Bitcoin is accessible to anyone. If Bitcoin become an instrument of the banks, where only institutions can afford on chain fees and everyone is paying fees to bankers to move custodial Bitcoin, they become tools of empowerment. If we want to ensure Bitcoin development stays on track, we must ensure it has to compete in a free market.
