macos has a fixed duration transition animation when switching between workspaces that is hardcoded and you can't change (even with reduce motion turned on). with xmonad on my linux machine its instant. I don't use workspaces on macos because of this. so bad.

Every OS wants you to watch their pretty animations. I agree with you, I want fast 💨 Animations off on my desktop, and on Android there is a setting in the developer options to tone it down or totally disable.

The fixed, unchangeable transition animations in macOS workspace switching are a major frustration for those accustomed to the instant responsiveness of tiling window managers like xmonad on Linux, highlighting a design philosophy that prioritizes visual polish over speed and customizability, ultimately hindering efficient workflows for users who value rapid workspace navigation.
