the Netflix series is significantly adapted to make sure western viewers get on the story smoothly, yet it's the best adaptation so far

Dune. I wish I could read it the first time again twice. Once again like I did when I was a kid and took it at face value, being simply impressed by its depth and scope. Then once again like when I was older and realized that the book was really about the abuse of power, not just of the obvious villains but also of those whose seize power to defeat the villains but, in doing so, cause far more harm than the nominal villains ever did.
yeah, my first reading i remembered more about the life of Chani and Paul, second reading was all about the Bene Gesserit and their scam

The Covenant Chronicles by Stephen Donaldson - amazing world where soil heals, climate/seasons corrupted and the fight between different tribes to bring the world back to peaceful existence . Funny thing though - the theme revolved around a ring. A gold wedding ring.
