I’ve reached a major milestone today. I have finally completed the pre-edit draft of my book: 24 24 chapters, 366 pages, and 137,000 words. I started writing this book in April last year and hit writer’s block after completing chapter 4 in late June, 2022. Wrote nothing till October, when I eked out half of chapter 5, and then writer’s block again till late March this year. Since then, I’ve written the remaining 18 and a half chapters at a fairly decent pace, barring conferences knocking me off my rhythm for a few weeks at a time. Turns out, I was stuck for the good part of year because I didn’t quite know how to introduce a pivotal character in the book - @The Noncemeister I feel a massive sense of completion, although there’s a lot of work ahead. I’m going to take the next few days to do one final review, then it’s off to my developmental editor. I have intentionally chosen someone who knows absolutely nothing about bitcoin to do this - she writes vampire novels and erotica. Her turnaround time is going to be 6-weeks. Then, I incorporate potential changes she proposes (there will be many, I’m sure), and then off to my line/copy editor. Once’s he done, it publish time! I’m hoping this happens by November this year at the latest. I want to shout out to the nostr community that read the chapters as I was posting them along the way and commented on them. It genuinely meant a lot to me to hear your feedback, and it kept me motivated and inspired. Special shout out to @BTCapsule 🏴 and @NEW1 who’ve been commenting on every single chapter without fail. Also @Marce for her invaluable help with the Spanish portions of the book. My blog currently has the book up to Chapter 15. Starting this week, I will post two chapter a week instead of one till I get to the end.
