It is best to keep it simple. A watch had to show time, that is all, 50k watch shows the time and 100 one shows it as well. Instead of taking the risk of losing, being stolen, broken, etc. a 50k watch I would use 100 and don't even think about consequences.
Like light and darkness are interdependent, and do not exist without the other β¦
the birth of bitcoin conferred the status of shitcoins on all else, and they do not exist without the other.
After getting robbed by people who got into my house pointing guns at me, I can say:
Watches are like shitcoins, but you canβt even hide it from whoever wants to rob you.
They are worst than shitcoins.
fluffypony was a fan of luxury watches, or "timepieces" as he called them...mark another point in the shitcoin column.
PS I wonder how the gulag is treating him these days...
Good looking time piece @HODL! Totally agree with you since they make 1 million Rolex watches per year so Iβll just stick to stacking finitely scarce sats
Iβve had Omega and Tag watches and they are finicky and unreliable as have been the Rolexes of people I know.
My watch buying advice:
1. Look for a sapphire crystal for scratch resistance if you pay more than $400 without getting sapphire, youβre getting overpriced shit
2. Look for quartz movement over automatic movements for reliable timekeeping. Quartz is reliable and can take abuse. Automatics are finicky. They are entirely for status as quartz is superior in function.
If you want a reliable attractive watches for reasonable money, there is no substitute for a Citizen Eco-Drive or a Bulova quartz with sapphire crystal. Max $500-$600 price.
